This is Maile McCann, grad worker in Civil Engineering and interim GSWOC-UAW Local 872 Recording Secretary. I’m writing to let you know about some important upcoming Local 872 actions!

First, the April Monthly Membership Meeting will be held next Wednesday April 24 at 5:30pm, in-person and over Zoom. Local 872 members will discuss the upcoming leadership elections, ongoing grievances and organizing, and more. See agenda here.
Second, May Day (aka International Workers Day) is coming up on May 1st! On May 1st at 2pm, join a contingent of your fellow USC grad workers and community members in marching in solidarity for workers’ rights, immigrant rights, and a Free Palestine. Before the rally, Local 872 members will be meeting up to make banners and placards to carry. Join on April 26 at 6pm for an Art Build & Work session. Details and location in RSVP.
Lastly, there will be a Know Your Rights training this coming Tuesday, April 23rd at 4pm in KAP 209. Curious about your rights under our new contract and want to learn more?
