Local Union Elections

Spring 2024 Local 872 Election – May 13th-14th

Consistent with the democratically ratified bylaws, the Election Committee has issued a notice of the nomination period opening on Monday, April 22nd. Nominations are open until Monday, April 29th. Every member in good standing is automatically nominated for every position. To accept nomination, members must fill out this form, which includes space to submit a candidate statement of no more than 500 words. 

The election itself will take place via an online vote next month, May 13th-14th, 2024.

The election timeline is as follows: 

• April 22nd-29th: Nomination period
• May 5th: Candidate statements submitted to membership
• May 13th: Voting opens, online ballots sent out to all members (if you do not receive a ballot on the 13th, there will be a link to request a ballot) 
• May 14th: Voting closes
• May 15th: Election results announced
• May 20th-21st: Runoff election, if necessary, for positions where no candidate is voted in by a majority vote
